As the tributes to late U.S. Senator Edward Kennedy continue, nowhere beyond the United States is his death reverberating more than in Ireland. Irelands foreign affairs minister called Kennedy the embodiment of the Irish immigrant story, and as another mourner put it, Kennedy was an Irishman in the corridors of Washington.

Malachy McCourt — an author, playwright and radio talk show host — joins Martin Savidge to discuss why Kennedy and his family resonated with the Irish.

  • @padraic2001eire How long have you had the hots for Malachy McCourt? LOL Seriously. Why this weird interest in an old man who is only trying to make a living? Is there some truth in what Clanton wrote about padraictakesitintheass?

As far as I can see that's just a throwaway insult typical of trolls like Clanton but you jumped on it for some reason. I don't care about your sexuality but you have raised the point. Are you gay? If you like Malachy, that's all right by me. Just curious.

  • @padraic2001eire Oh, really! It would be helpful!!? It would also be helpful if you would behave yourself on YouTube and stop threatening other users. Do you think your activity has gone unnoticed? Why do you take particular exception to inserting "takes it in the ass" into your YouTube ID? Is there something you want to share with the channel? Your sexuality is of no interest or consequence to us. However, your sick vile behavior on YouTube most definitely IS!

  • @padraic2001eire I can now conclude.

    Slán go fóill!! AGOA LOL

  • @padraic2001eire Now,now, exaggeration. You have asked me twice where I was from. Whereas I have asked you several questions which you have neglected to answer. Among them are: 1/ What age are you? (In Irish) 2/ How long have you been a racist begrudger? 3/ Why do you hate black people? (In Irish). 4/ Why do you know nothing about the Irish psyche? (in Irish). 5/ Why do you need that information (about where I am from)? (In Irish).Your linguistic limitations are a nice cover for YOUR evasiveness.

  • @padraic2001eire Now, now, exaggeration. (In Irish). Your linguistic incompetence is a cover for YOUR evasiveness.

  • @Mobilecheese I said I would after you told me where you were from. That has to be the fourth or fifth time you've deliberately avoided answering the question I posed to you, whereas I have answered every question you asked me.

I can only conclude from your evasiveness that you are not from Ireland, though you clearly speak the Irish language quite well. I, on the other hand, have lived in Ireland all my life, and so my views have a bit more validity than yours. Good day.

  • @padraic2001eire "But if I went to Google Translate, translated a few sentences from English to Irish and posted them here, would that prove I was Irish?"

Well, of course, it would prove to me immediately that you " had gone to Google and translated a few sentences from English to Irish and posted them here.." Machine translations are easy to recognize and are worthless. I bet you ran my Irish comments through Google!! AGOA LOL Maith thú!!

  • @padraic2001eire Excellent!!! "a chip on your shoulder" That phrase has been running through my head since this duologue started. "a chip on your shoulder"?

You've got a hell of a block of wood on yours!! LOL. So you did study Irish!! So let's be having you!! Fire out a "cúpla focal" there and none of "yer ol' fookin' nonsense!! Rudimentary or not!! Come on!

  • @Mobilecheese My, you do have a chip on your shoulder, don't you? I didn't accuse you of not being able to speak Irish. But if I went to Google Translate, translated a few sentences from English to Irish and posted them here, would that prove I was Irish? Yes, I did study Irish, but it has been years since I did and I do not use it on a daily basis, so it's a little rusty.

Tell you what, you tell me where in Ireland you're from and I'll fire off a couple of rudimentary Irish sentences...

  • @padraic2001eire Btw...what other languages do you speak? Are you in Dublin now? Are you anywhere near the Gresham Hotel on O'Connell Street?
