Great movie...! This is a Shyam Benegal masterpiece. First of all, a very realistic story. Next, very realistic direction. Next, perfect performances by all the actors. Also, very short and sweet songs appropriate to the situations, with good sweet music. God, rarely do we get to see movies like this one.

Love the smile and music when Mahadev rides past Kamala. So romantic the sacrifice he made and she realises what a good man he is. It would have better to end it that way rather than rushing him to marry the other girl. Almost the perfect Bollywood movie because I don't always like happily ever after...way too cliche...
