its not decisive. it used male plural for the bears, but female number for the 2.

Hmm. That's weird. The NIV and NLT don't specify the gender of the bears, but the KJV, NASB, and some other translations do. I wonder if the Hebrew has some gender-specific language in it? Gonna axe the pastor when next I see him.
