  • nice playing man that sounds a very bright piano sound, but nice cover.

  • @paulallen34 He is using Grand piano 2 sound, its brighter than the number 1, there is also brilliance settings mellow normal and bright

  • @khandbleachfan Spot on. For that song I was playing with Grand Piano 2 on Normal. It was a very bright sound, fitting for some of that song. I've since learned to really like the deepness of number 1 on half normal/half mellow. Either way, the sound is crisp and great.

  • @paulallen34 Thanks! Really appreciate it. There are some other videos where I play it a little better, but this one has gone viral in comparison because of the title "P155 test". Hopefully I'll have a great quality "P155 Test 2 - Pathetique" video up soon enough when I'm ready to record it. Feel free to subscribe so you know when I post it. Thanks for watching!

  • @cggage Yeah, MIDI. I haven't even tried it though, haha. Subscribe! I should have more videos coming.

  • @MisterITGuy Well, that makes sense. I thought the P155 had a better feel, as well. Of course, it is twice the price. I assume it has MIDI so I could do the Ivory II / Vienna Instruments grand piano samples? Thanks for your comments! --Chuck

  • @cggage Thanks for the comment! I may try Moonlight Sonata next (great song), but I am working on Beethoven's "Pathetique" Movement 1 right now. There are a few random practice clips on my channel, but I'll have a video up soon enough.

The P85/95 vs P155 question comes up a lot, and I had the same concerns when shopping for a keyboard. I can say the P155 is well worth the money in both sound quality and FEEL. Playing the others just doesn't even compare. Spend the $ for the P155 for sure.

  • Hi! Love your playing. Since you are Mr. IT Guy, I have to ask you if you have seen this video - search: "Beethoven's "Moonlight" Sonata, 1st movement"

A young man connected his Yamaha P95 to a MIDI using the Ivory II samples. I have been sitting on the fence about buying a P95 because I am such a stickler for sound quality. It is okay on the P95 but not great. The Ivory II samples of the Steinway D and Bosendorfer 290 Imperial are great. You might want to experiment with it.

  • @paulallen34 Thanks! Check out the other vids too. This one is older.

  • @Gaaraperson Thanks for commenting. I think the quality of the P155 is fantastic. I have absolutely no regrets buying it. I got it from Guitar Center with a bench, strong stand, nice sustain pedal, and a book on theory. Money well spent. I'd say it's worth it to spend a little extra on that. I was debating the P85, but the keys felt too artificial. I don't have an issue going from my P155 to a real piano and back, but there would be issues had I bought a P85.
