im pretty good at playing sax and im 12 but i cant play tha good but i have memorized mambo no.5, rout 66, and like 5 more jazz songs that i cant remember the name of plus my own improvization peice x.D

I'm the soloist's sister and was at this concert...trust me, it was improvised and purely off-the-cuff. I know, I know, people would say "yea of course you'd say that because you're his sister," but believe me, I was nervous for his improv solo and he surprised me yet again :) he blew me away too!

@OneGuyOneHarp the solo is entirely improvised. I filmed it. He is now 15 and was selected as one of 14 to the 2010 Berklee College Jazz Workshop. This will be his second scholarship summer at Berklee.

@zbalder14 It sure does look like that it was written. The kid's always staring at the sheet music. To improv like that, specially with this age, you must know the music / chord progression by heart. There's no need to be looking at the sheet music during the whole solo.

@zbalder14 hey you kknow maybe you are right,,,i mean if i were to be performing a song and improv i would have the chord changes down by memorization (helps the improvization a LOT). But maybe im wrong :)
