MI Auto Times was at the 17th Annual Woodward Dream Cruise to capture the action on the avenue and the smiling faces as spectators and cruisers shared their stories with us.
With about 1.1 million people converging on Woodward Avenue for the official cruise day and pre-festivities leading up to the event, and more than 40,000 classic cars, custom vehicles and introductions of the hottest new products from major automakers, this year's Woodward Dream Cruise is being celebrated by many as a success.
Woodward Dream Cruise attendees enjoyed much better weather this year over last as the sun and hot temperatures kept convertibles and cars on the street with the exception of Saturday evening's instant downpour.
Overall, there were many highlights including Wednesday's kick off of the Cruise with a 400-strong Chevrolet Corvette parade; numerous classics like a '57 Thunderbird, a 1970 Mach Mustang and Chevelle Super Sport, and a 1965 GTO Tri-Power Convertible; and a show-stopping caravan of modern Buick Regal Turbo vehicles featuring 220 horsepower and head-turning exteriors.
