  • @iknowlotsofthings: Prostrations during Divine Liturgy!

At the Small Entrance - PEOPLE PROSTRATE, OUR FATHER, MEET IS IT.....When the Priest is blessing with the Chalice .- ALL PEOPLE ARE LYING ON THE GROUND and tremble.

ETC - so we prostrate and fall down NONSTOP. With PEWS this is IMPOSSIBLE. Pews destroy completely the dynamic worship - ORTHODOX CHRISTIANs are NOT PEW-SITTERS

    This is NONSENSE!

  • @iknowlotsofthings: Prayer of St. Ephraim!

This was ONE EXAMPLE - only ONE. Byzantine Rite? Ha? There are not different RITES! What are u talking about?

The prayer of St. Ephraim is said more than 7 times a day during Lent.

PROSTRATION is an important PART OF THE DIVINE SERVICE: DURING ALL prayers we prostrate and kneel and bow down.

During Litury: At every: "LORD HAVE MERCY" we make a small prostration, When the Trinity is glorified with prostrate, Trishagion WE PROSTRATE,

  • @iknowlotsofthings: When u don't like reading my posts - DO NOT READ THEM!

  • @iknowlotsofthings: PEWS are Protestant!

Pews WERE NEVER USED IN HOLY ORTHODOXY. Because PEWS go against the Tradition of Church and against the proper behaviour. In the history of the church FOR 2000 years - NO PEWS WERE KNOWN.

NO ONE was SITTING ON BENCHES in the TEMPLE OF GOD. This is BLASPHEMY.

Prostration, Bows, kneeling, standing.....this is the ORTHODOX way....not sitting on PEWS.

This has nothing to do with Sermons!

  • @iknowlotsofthings: MISTAKEN THE VERSE!

When I have mistaken the Verse - ALL FATHERS ARE WRONG and THE TRADITION OF THE CHURCH.

Why do u think Orthodox Nuns are completely covered? Why do u think the Most Holy Theotokos is ALWAYS depicted with hair cover!

  • @iknowlotsofthings: WRONG u ARE AGAINST THE TRADITION OF THE CHURCH!

1.) It is clear that St. Paul was speaking about Hair Cover. This is also testified by the Commentaries of the Church Fathers - THEY ALL SPEAK ABOUT HAIR COVER

2.) When u look into the Iconography ALL WOMEN HAD AND HAVE COVRED HAIR.

3.) When u look at old fotos or pictures - U WILL SEE THAT ALL ORTHODOX CHRISTIAN WOMEN had covered hair i greece, in romania, in bulgaria, in russia etc..

    So there is NO DOUBT!

  • @adamantis4657 That prayer is used solely during Great Lent by churches who use the Byzantine Rite. Which explains why most churches do not use it (or prostrate and bow during the saying of it) in North America. Also, there is always a large aisle in the centre, the sides, and between the first row of pews and the first step leading to the altar. Plenty of room to prostrate for those capable. Keep in mind ROCOR is almost completely solely used in Russia.

  • @adamantis4657 If you want to have a proper debate, please learn how to spell and use proper grammar, it is really quite aggravating to read your posts.

  • @adamantis4657 Were pews an innovation of Greeks or of Protestants? Make up your mind if you want to sound the least bit intelligent. They were introduced by the Protestants during their reformation, and later when the sermon by the priest became the biggest part of Christian Mass (read well, sermon not prayers; Christian Mass, not Orthodox/Catholic/Protestant/ any other branch) were they commonly introduced.

  • @adamantis4657 Youve mistaken part of that verse for something else. Your reading into the first part of the verse:

For if the woman be not covered, let her also be shorn: but if it be a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.

and twisting it into your own words. If you had just read the rest of the verse, you would have understood.
