DC really wants the public to know that they're rebooting their entire universe. They're banking on a lot of folks who liked the Dark Knight but never bought a comic book to actually go out and buy their comic books. While this whole reboot thing has caused a lot of ire in the nerd community, DC is hoping to woo people who aren't in said community to their local comic book stores to buy up all of the new #1's they got coming out in a few weeks. To help spread the word, they've created this ad that'll air on TV and before movies in those Regal Twenty pre film ads.
The New 52 debuts on comic book store shelves Wednesday, August 31st, 2011.
