What the $%^& is Curling?!?! Exploring a National Pasttime, just like on SNL!

I arrived into Vancouver for the 2010 Winter Olympics with only one goal in mind: to see me some curling.

Hahaha! Um, that's a joke. I had no idea what curling was all about - it just looked silly to me on television. And as much as it pains me to say it (I hate making masculinity the Holy Grail), it also seems pretty girly! But perhaps if I knew more about the sport of curling, then I would be less inclined to make fun of it.

So, with zipliners zipping along above us, Kevin and I embarked on a not-so-epic journey around Robson Square to talk to some friendly Canadians and see what they had to say about their national pastime of curling.

how is curling so confusing? I don't understand what's so hard to get, if you would watch the damn thing for more than 3 minutes i'm sure you'd get it, instead of making a bunch of asses of yourselves. Typical USA make fun of something you don't even understand, just because you end up in last place in the sport doesn't make it any less of a game. P.s. Canada is on top of the Hockey world, up yours USA

Hmmmm.......I think it was more interesting to ask rando Canadians about curling than it was to watch the event itself! I actually have a newfound respect for the girly-ness of it all...and I am not exactly the most masculine dude!

@JxKx4x7 yes american football, not raditional football played with the feet or foot, but the basterdisation of rugby when mcmasterU students played HarvardU and got raped in the assbecause they sucked at it, so they came up with football or as the rest of the world, meaning not north america, call it american football to differentiate the two different sports

Have to say that first time i saw curling on TV, i thought that "what the fuck is this?! this is even boring than tennis or golf!" But after i got hang of it, its pretty tactical and technical "sport", now i enjoy watching it :) btw tennis and golf is still boring as hell ;D
