  • Was your legato playing influenced by Allan Holdsworth?

It is really awesome because of the smoothness!

  • Thanks, Holdsworth is incredible and he's definitely been an influence...

  • Okay, I know this is the wrong place to ask advice but I'm gonna anyway.... well, i play guitar and have been listing to some great players for the past couple of years... vai, yngwie, speed metal guitars and such well here's my dilemma... I'm wanting to get more into writing my own songs and everything but I seem t have problems writing melodies that flow plus I don't have much rhythm capabilities. What are some things I can do to help? That don't require lessons Thnxs.

  • Youre probably asking the wrong guy, I have trouble getting beyond a decent riff

  • since you bought this guitar,

what makes jems so exspensive aside from being steves signature.

    please reply

  • I'm sure it's overpriced, but I haven't found a less expensive guitar that plays as well or sounds as good. Especially not a 7 string...

  • Great album!

  • ahh;) i was looking for XR520V quality video and i see also some nice UV777:)

Connecing the need for information with pleasure.

  • nice one

  • Stratoleft,

Playing like Allan Holdsworth is possible.

    Here are some examples:

Ignazio DiSalvo, Derryl Gabel, Brett Garsed, Alessandro Giglioli, Marshall Harrison, TJ Helmerich, Livio Lamonea, Magnus Olsson, Scott Stine and Derek Taylor.

These are legato masters and some are sounding like him.

  • Legato can be a method or an approach to playing an instrument. Or part of it. As far as a "style" is concerned, there is nothing like Allan Holsworth's style in the world.

  • Because of the legato playing style.
