@1230mikeena If that's true, than the boys should've been allowed to watch the girls showering nude as well.

the only thing I find wrong about this is that it was unfair, the guys had to be nude and the girls didnt, thats why it is unfair. makes me mad

@chubbtm5 well what about girls

@MokonaSoccerPlayer22 - You really are a prude aren't you. There's nothing wrong with nude swimming. I've been a naturist since 2004, but looking back I wish I'd been one from birth but I wasn't. I never saw my parents naked either and talking about nudity and sex was a very rare occurrence. The problem some people have nowadays is they think nudity is all about sex. This is NOT always the case. Children grow up with a better understanding about their bodies if free to be nude when they want.

..in the book to get out of doing it; pretending to be ill was most common. One thing I didn't think of was bunking off.
In later years use of the showers declined and I don't think I ever had to shower nude age 16.
Looking back I'm sure things would've been better if I'd have been prepared for this. If I'd have been a naturist all my life I wouldn't have thought twice about showering nude in the company of fifty or so other boys.
Who would ever have thought I'd become a naturist in 2004?

I've been a naturist for a good 7 years and love swimming nude.
However, in 1982 and at the age of 11 I started high school. Things weren't too bad initially, but after PE, I found myself facing a situation that horrified me. After the lesson we were expected to shower nude, especially if we'd been playing football or rugby outside. My first experience was terrifying! A teacher came up to me a growled; "Get those knickers off and get in!" I hated showering nude so much I tried every trick....

The problem wasn't girls swimming nude, it was guys picturing girls swimming nude. So, in essence the girls were being penalized for the thoughts of men.
Tell me I'm wrong?

I'm glad they stopped this.

@1reaperful - Your are entitled to your opinion but it is just that - an opinion - you can't deny the facts - I was there! Cite the sources for your mere opinion!

@1reaperful - Well, in 1974-76 I was on the St Monica's basketball team. We all showered after games and practices. A nearby door to the athletic office was often wide open when we showered. Sometimes cheerleaders would watch us shower from about 12 meters away. I didn't care if they saw us showering nude. What do you mean "fantasies" or "getting off"?
In 1949 to 1957 I swam nude at the YMCAs, the Y's summer camp and at Peabody High School in Pittsburgh, PA. It was the norm for boy's up to the age of eighteen to swim nude in most Pittsburgh Public High Schools and at all YMCAs. No one ever objected to mothers, sisters or female teachers being present while the boys were swimming nude or even in the locker rooms. Modesty was only for girls. What's there to hide? "Change is inevitable - except from a vending machine." Outstanding video!

Too bad nudity is so suspect these days. The schools I attended didn't have pools, but I did swim nude many times in the local river and Lake Superior. What is not understood today is that there was nothing sexual about it. Men and boys were not expected to be modest in front of each other then, and this is why it felt natural. We took our cues from dads and uncles and never thought about it. Too bad today's young men seem so painfully self-conscious and uncomfortable with their bodies.
