My guess is to prevent accidents from happening since there are tall buildings in downtown. And I think it's common for major airports to not be located in the city center.

@Guitarstring187 sac is cool because its a decent sized major city without the constant gridlock traffic and the congestion. The murder rates been going down too, the main bad areas are all of south sac, north sac, and del paso heights/north highlands area. And of course the weather is typical california weather, the rain is probably nothin compared to seattle.

I'm a Sac native and I don't like where the airport is but I understand. Originally the airport was in the city but due to growth starting in the 50's no room was within the city limits for a large International Airport. So now the airport is north of Sac outside the city limits where there's nothing. This has worked as now 2.3 mil live around sac and the airport is now huge!. I you want to see something, fly in from the south or east and you will see the cities highrises, businesses and homes.

LMAO... optical illusion... it is a standard airplane window. Stewie is a funny lil fella on the Family Guy. My daughters watch it, I don't turn to it, but if it is on, I chuckle. The tap dancing, "left foot first" omg... in the wheelchair, too cute.
