Series of Sodium Explosions in Water

Several different demonstrations of sodium fun. We were contacted by the local fire department to do a couple demonstrations. The 55 gallon drum was reacted with a 5 gallon bucket of water. There was only a thin layer of sodium on the bottom of the drum to react with. Later we demonstrated the effect of how sodium "bounces" around on the water. You can see that the sodium reacts on a surface level and regardless of size of piece, the actual reaction is very similar, it only proceeds for a longer time with a larger piece.

@tohay888 Yes ,I guess you're right. But there still depends ,how many in the lake of sodium added. It is quite possible that there is strongly diluted alkali
