A pretty creepy movie trailer from the 1978 Movie, "Magic" by Joseph E. Levine. The Puppet, "Fats" presents this terrifying love story which scared some if not many kids then. To me, it was weird rather than creepy.

I remember this from way back then! I could still quote the lines "presto chango, now he is me" and "magic is fun. We are dead." Only now, 30 years later, do I realize that Fats the dummy's face is made to look like Anthony Hopkins' face. Creeeeeepy!

Along with the teaser trailer for It's Alive, this was one of the most effective pee-your-pants chilling trailers during the 70s.

My kids asked me what used to scare me when I was little.I told them there was this commercial for a movie called "magic" that was one of the scariest things ever. I then decided we should try to find it on You Tube. It still freaks me out, but we watch it over and over.

the 70's had the best horror films ever!
80's horror films became gory and the focus turned into blood, eyes popping out, zombies eating brains and so on.... in the 90's horror films became too technologically advanced to be even scary.... the horror films today are mostly remakes of 70's horror films!
