Marxist studies of monetary policy are lagging, relative to post-Keynesian and neoclassical analysis. This video presents a practice run of my M.A. thesis proposal defence. My thesis examines the transition to, and implementation of, neoliberal monetary policy in Canada between 1975 and 1991. Feedback is highly encouraged.
I think this sounds promising. It's a lot to chew off even with the limitations you impose. It occurs to me that Friedman's formulation of a "natural rate of unemployment" necessary to keep inflation low has a certain resemblance to the "reserve army of the unemployed" necessary to keep wages low (I am waiting, by the way, for that latter term to have a comeback).
I hope you will post more videos as your work progresses.
