The US Army's Martial Arts system is known as Combatives. I am a certified Combatives Instructor and as such am sometimes tasked with the mission of training soldiers on this subject. Here is a set of 3 video clips from a few different classes I gave on the same day...

  • Im a mixed martial artist who currently holds a title and thats the worst arm bar i have ever saw. Dudue u need to learn how to fight before u send these por people off to get killed because they think they know cambatives

  • @1227isaiah Not only are you not a MMA Champion, you are not even a MMA. Because if you were you would know that this is textbook application. Also, this is taught the way the Army tells us to teach it. So if you have a problem with these techniques you should take it to the Army, tough guy. You come across as yet another know-it-all civilian who wants to tell the military how to do its job. And what have you ever done for our country? Help or get out of the way!

  • Honestly bro ! This is the bare minimum for combatant class.. Not to mention the instructor has never been to combat as you can see his right arm where the flag is.. No combat patch

  • @V3toif Dingbat: (a) It's a beginner-level class. (b) I am currently on my second combat tour in Afghanistan. And even then, what does a combat patch have to do with teaching Combatives? (c) The fact that you would make a comment like the one you just made tells me a few things: (1) You probably don't have a college degree. (2) Whatever rank you hold in the military (if you even are in the military) is minimal. (3) You are not happy with where you're at in life right now.

  • I love and respect our military. but this is not a good way to teach it.

  • Give the guy a break damn it's basic so I wouldnt expect him a full proper armbar I should expect an armbar basically but when in depth more proper technique

  • @1227isaiah there is a difference between the compedative martial arts world and the worlf of actual combatives. the difference is that in competition, ur goal is to hurt the guy bad enough to win, in the world of combatives, ur goal is to disable or kill the guy ur fighting. this arm bar was perfect for the combatives world.

  • Thanks for the tips, I would like to be a combat medic one day and im learning what I can before I join. Screw all these haters. This is for beginners like me, im sorry we all cant be mma pro and what not

  • @1227isaiah you say that because you know how to do the arm bar by mma standards, mma has rules, war has no rules, so this arm bar is gonna be a bit different cuz the idea isn't to get the guy to tap out, its to neutralize the threat by disabling the arm.

  • @BigOliBronco1 You come off as an extremely bitter, angry, and lonely individual. I sympathize and advise you to find a more constructive method in which to channel your anger, because my future comments to you will not be very nice. Now run along, shoo!

  • @salzone1

All your comments about stabbing me in the face are pointless, and the city you're from has no bearing on how much of a tough guy you think you are, and reading a book written by Bruce Lee does not make you a practitioner of JKD.

I see in one of your other posts that this was a beginner's class - even if it was a beginner's class and you wouldn't necessarily teach them all the details of the technique, your execution of the technique is horrible.

    You need retraining.

  • @BigOliBronco1 They sent me to Marana, Arizona. And I am SUPER CONFIDENT I can teach it better than you. If you want to talk fighting, though, I am not ashamed to say that I will not hesitate to stab you in the face. That's because (a) I'm from Brooklyn and (b) I studied Bruce Lee's Jeet Kun Do for 8 years, under which it is acceptable to stab someone in the face.

  • @salzone1

Name-calling aside, serious question, where did you get certified to teach combatives?

  • @BigOliBronco1 Dipshit, who let you be the loser that you are?

  • Who let this guy teach combatives?

  • @steppynwulf

Here we go, there's always some asshole who thinks he's the second coming of Jesus. Dude, if I ever see you, say your crap to my face, and I will straight-up slap you like the bitch that you are. Otherwise, you're obviously nothing more than an ignorant keyboard tough guy. Now go crawl back under the rock you crawled out from under...

  • no shit im in the army and i teach this stuff, he dosent know shit. he read a little book maybe did some level one. he's not even doing the shit right.

come on man if your goin to try to teach it know it

  • Sorry, I wrote that last night when I was drunk. 8>P

  • And you're obviously an idiot...

  • Just because you're wearing fatigues doesn't mean it's not gay.

  • Ha - thanks! ;-)

  • New York's bestest tour guide and now New York's bestest US Army Combative Instructor.

    NICE WORK
