Some advice for TubePre owners, or people who plan to get a TubePre. Do a research on 12AX7 Tubes. There are alot of tube comparison websites and forums around. If you think your Presonus TubePre doesn't sound good then replace the tube and experiment with different brands of Tubes. The brand of tube that comes with the Presonus is in general not that good. I prefer the brands JJ Electronics and Tung-sol.

I can dig it

Good machine, especially for rock bassists who play with fingers and want to sound like pick. It would work better If came with a compressor as a channel strip.

Hi, is there any chance to hear something of what you say? there are many videos of this product but I haven't found a single sample of how it really sounds!!! I am looking for a review that go deeper than what I can read in the Presonus web site. Thanks!!

You forgot to mention this is just a cheap, low quality OP-AMP based circuit with a tube in the signal path to color the sound. You might as well buy behringer, at least behringer doesn't waste as much money.
you should turn it on and play something through it and not to tell us what we can see.. loose of the 'virtual space' for this 'movie'.. talk, talk, talk.. bad review.. :(

I bought one of these for fifty clams that was a demo. The Chinese tube sounded awful (Voice tracking with a large diaphragm condenser mic. Once I replaced the 12AX7 with a NOS Mullard (thirty bucks), it sounded much better. This will not outdo a 2000 dollar preamp, but for those of us on a limited budget, with a decent tube, this is a real good investment, especially for those who use digital recording.
