@Myhopeisinhim Once someone is redeemed, they will want to love God more. We know how to love each other (last 6 commandments), but the first 4 commandments help us understand how to love God. Keeping those commandments doesn't save them, but is a product of love. I want to love Him more, dont you?

@Myhopeisinhim The entire Bible is about Jesus and how he is our example and how God does not change. Just like in the Bible times, we cant be saved by the law, but because we love Jesus we keep the commandments... not by our own strength, but by Jesus living through us. In God all things are possible.

@liveNlearn22 I find it very strange that both the Tanakh (what the Christians call the OT) and Hebrew in the NT say that the new covenant is to be made with the Houses of Judah and Israel. Not the rest of the world. The entire bible, both the Tanakh and the NT is only about and for the Houses of Judah and Israel. When people realize this it opens the doors to a lot of other truths that the RCC & protestant churches have kept concealed.

@liveNlearn22 Yet God himself declare : "I will remove the stony heart and I will give you a heart of flesh" God put in us his nature, a living law, Jesus Christ. He is the word made flesh. According Dt 4, 13 the 10C was the OC. Jesus came to establish a NC based on the better promises. He is the NC for all mankind. In this exemple he became the new standard (higher and better the 10C) which we must follow, the law of faith ;)

@an35tares 2 Cor talks about the New Covenant. The New Covenant talks about the 10C written in the heart. That is what the New Covenant is. Instead of it being on stone it is written in the hearts of man, but it is still the 10C. Gal 3 talks about law and faith, meaning that keeping the law will not save you. You also have to have faith. Some people just keep the law just to keep it and their heart is not right. They are doing it for the reward that God talks about.

@an35tares God gave the 10C to Moses. He wrote them with his finger and spoke it with his voice. He says, "I am the Lord thy God and I do not change." They were written on stone. You cannot nail stone to anything. The 10C were put inside the ark the ceremonial laws were put outside the ark, because they are not the same. God did not leave the 10C up to Moses He did it himself.

@liveNlearn22 Did you read about the law and priesthood in Hb 7? What this chapter say about the new priesthood established by Jesus? What law is it? What Paul declared about the 10C in 2 Cor 3; Gal 3; Rm 5-7? Christ is the end of the law for the righteousness of all who believe (Rm 10, 4). He teach and give the rigthteousness and not the law!
-
@liveNlearn22 Hi! I never said that either. The law and the prophets (Mat 5) were accomplished by Jesus on the cross. You separate the ceremonial from the 10C. According you, who gave the ceremonial law to Moses? Do you find the 10C in the law of Moses?
-
@an35tares And what did the apostles teach? I Know that they didn't teach that the law of God was amended. The only one who could do that is God, and He did not. The Law of God and the Law of Moses are not the same. Moses (Ceremonial Laws) God (10 Commandments)
-
@liveNlearn22 Are you sure of that? All what you said is an interpretation of SDA and no what the bible declare nor the historical too... In the first century, the first disciples of apostles as Clement of Rome (Ph 4,3), Ignatius (disciple of Peter and John) etc. have left writing about that and they went further, they said themself to keep the teaching of the apostles and they died for that too. Be careful with the interpretation of SDA they put on the biblical texts...

The 10 commandments does not only apply to the Jews. When you become a Christian you are saved by becoming a spiritual Jew. Don't forget that Jesus was a Jew. He does not have a different standard for Christians than he does for the Jews. Christians cannot change the law of God. They BREAK THE LAW of GOD. The fact that the Catholics have images does not mean that the law of God was amended.

The first day of the week was not made the sabbath after Jesus. If that were true it would clearly be stated in the bible. After Jesus went back to heaven the apostles still kept the Sabbath (7th day). The Romans changed the day from Saturday to Sunday, that was not an amendment that was just people breaking the law of God. Jesus himself said he did not come to do away with the law but to fulfill it. There is something wrong with that, you CANNOT change the law of God.
@simpleicon
say one never read the bible. Never heard about the sabbath or any other feast day. Would their heart, their conscience, tell them what day..would it convict them?
What about lying, stealin? You see, the heart has the uncanny knowledge of when they've done something wrong, made a mistake. This is burned into every heart. Right and wrong...however the sabbath is not burned in with that knowledge..its something you have to hear about it to know.

@Myhopeisinhim Dear friend, God doesnt want us to follow our heart. The Bible says that we must follow what we know is truth, not what we feel is truth. This is outlined by Paul when he says, "I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet." Romans 7:7. One only follows the law because they desire to love. Those that dont know the Bible will be judged by what truth they know. What an amazing God! I want to love Jesus more, dont you?
