Played by Ivan Moravec.
ClassicsForTheAges brings you another lost performance! Czech pianist Ivan Moravec may be one of the most underrated performers of our time. The personal touches and pastel shades he paints his performances with distinguish him as a musical artist.
In 1967 in the Grand Ballroom of the Manhattan Towers Hotel, Mr. Moravec recorded several works by Debussy and Mozart under the production of legendary Connoisseur Society sound engineer E. Alan Silver. All of them have remained consistently available since their initial vinyl releases except the Children's Corner Suite, which was last issued on a 1993 VAI CD entitled "French Keyboard Masterpieces" which is virtually impossible to find.
If you enjoy these performances, you can purchase more of Mr. Moravec's Debussy on the CDs "Ivan Moravec Plays Debussy" and "Ivan Moravec Plays French Music".
