Haltom City Mayor Calls Aggressive Violence a 'Responsibility,' Calls Rights a 'Priviledge'

In a debate on a proposed pet license ordinance, Haltom City mayor Bill Lanford said he condones the initiation of violence against peaceful residents on the grounds of "responsibility." In effect, he believes that actual violence should be initiated in order to lessen the possibility of violence occurring in the future. He also informed residents that they do not have "the privilege" of acting like they own their property.

The ordinance proposal was tabled for later debate.

I can only hope that the council members ask themselves what is it about their psychology that they are willing to use force against peaceful people.
