Album : The party's over
Piste : 3
Année : 07.1982

Sortie single : 06.1982 (face A)

Cover me with shades of disbelief
Can happiness be someone else's dream
Numbers call to spell my name
Move about as values change
Catch me if you can
But don't delay

Today, today
It's a dream away

Governed by the title on the wall
Commit me to a life within a fool
Happiness can often bleed
Beggars lay among the sheep
Let me take the choice
The sermon pleads

Today, today
It's a dream away

Visions in my cell begin to breed
Was everything a fact of what I'd read
Excuse me while I spell my name
Boat and ship could sound the same
Catch me if you can
But don't delay

Today, today
It's a dream away

Belle malissima

Today, today
It's a dream away

  • I heard this song on the radio yesterday, haven't heard it for at least 5 years; always nice to get a reminder of how great some music is and how great Talk Talk were.

Great tune, one of their best I think :)

  • This band is from the era when music was music rather than airbrushed bimbo's flashing their cleavage to sell music. Talk Talk sold their music because it was totally brilliant.

  • Found this because a band called Method Cell covered it :)

  • Did you ever hear a song where every second of it counted...this is such a song. It's so full of hooks. More musical aesthetic packed into 3.5 min then you hear in 3.5 weeks of radio listening combined nowadays. What's more, the song pretty much sums up life in those 3.5 min. And to think this isn't even their best song, at least IMO.

  • una de las mejores canciones de los ochentas, pioneros como ellos solos, lo maximo

  • @Cobra334 AMEN brother, AMEN!! Preach the truth to power!

  • I legit screamed when I heard this on absolute80s, just because the song is pretty obscure... yet amazing. So, so underrated, as a song and as a band.

  • every now and then i have to come back to this song and band to remind me what music once was and will never be again.

  • "its a dream away" RIP Trev

  • One of the best songs of all time and a very underrated band

    Bring back the 80s

Thanks for posting these wonderful fantastic Talk Talk songs

  • @xxxdarkheartedboixxx First listen, sounds like accepting just ticking by for now instead of doing what you want to, but also having dreams.
