music is meant for people to find the meaning and message in there own words personaly. there could be many meanings for this song but of course they make sense just have patience and listen.

@redcthulhu A manatee is a creature of the sea that, according to legend, was a very misunderstood creature because people thought they were mermaids. "Mary" is another name for a prostitute. Think about the lyrics like this instead: "Hang us! Those limbs hold no virtue... meaning that prostitutes are misunderstood. People want to "hang them" because they do not like prostitutes because they are genreally classified as bad people. Those limbs hold no virtue is pretty self-explanatory
