In December 2004 the Australian government issued this video presentation, titled "Mobile Communications and Health".
This was a response to Australian community concerns over possible adverse health impacts from the installation of mobile phone towers and the use of mobile phones.
It was initiated by Telstra, supported by the Mobile Carriers Forum, the Australian Communications Authority, and the Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA).
This video makes a number of statements about health and safety being assured from compliance with the so called "EME standards".
This video has since been taken down from their website and so it has been placed here as a public service.
An independent critique of this video is available at:

These towers might only be throwing out radiation up high, but what happens when someone makes a phone call? They need to pull that energy down to the ground to their mobile phone. What happens when thousands of people do this across cities every day? That energy is actually being pulled towards the ground, towards people.

And how much did the mobile operators pay them for these so-called 'scientific' results?

hmmm, looks very "produced" the people in the video were not genuine and sounds like they had memorized the lines. I still believe exposure to mobile telephone radiation to be the next asbestos. Mark my words.

How can I get hold of this paper that points out the many faults of the video? Please.

The video was taken down, not because the govt realised how stupid it made them look, but because word was spreading that this was a prime example of how the govt was giving the telcos whatever they wanted. A certain paper written re the video points out the many faults.
It was like the govt & telcos were caught in a compromising position.

Whilst viewing this short doco aka government spin, please bear in mind that at the time Mr Mike Bangay (you know, that guy who apparently is the best the best person to answer those very valid questions about our health and mobile phones and towers) had no formal qualifications whatsoever. Enjoy.
