I love the authentic embellishments and the total ease with which he executes them and the crystalline, slightly dry timbre is so different from that of a woman or a child. So perfect for this period of music .. if he only also had that strength and brilliant but voluptuous tone that the greatest castrati were said to possess, i swear i'd probably be fainting right now.

in 1735, i think that for the average person who got some coin, the opera back then was the great escape from the scary reality beyond the theatre walls. you wouldnt want to go back to youre rat infested tenement, tripping over winos and dodging parasitic thieves!!

well, i hope that you understand the inspiration behind this music is Christianity. maybe your love for it will become a love for God. Merry Christmas!

@abcabc5 I have played this video for many friends using my 32-inch LCD screen and Italian audio speakers. Everyone, regardless of faith, has been astonished with such a rare and beautiful voice as Radu's, which is pefectly appropriate for this Carissimi musical composition.

@Paddyeahh With my years of research and study, I can think of no other voice in the world that would be better suited to sing this work.

(The "new and improvied version" mentioned before refers to the fact that the only soundtrack of this work previously available to me was truncated at only 4 minutes; therefore, I waited until I obtained the entire 10 mintues before producing this video.)
