Machen did not have a bad day, he simply got caught by a punch he had not seen coming nor expected. There is no shame in this. Ingo caught him, like he caught Floyd Patterson with the same combo. Is what it is.

Machen DID have a bad day and definately under estimated Ingo. Johannson did well with this KO and deserved his title shot. While definately not great Ingo should be respected for doing what he had to do. To me, once Ingo became World Champ he lost interest. Floyd was much better 2nd time round. Sure, neither would have survived against Sonny or Cleveland but they did what they did and deserve the respect all fighters should receive.
