Here we have Roy Wood's "Edward Thomas" - believed to be one of the early Roundhouse conversions by Steve Acton, running on Roy's Holt Wood Light Railway. This loco is manual, was lined out by Roy and is hauling a rake of Brandbright coaches. The Chuffer was a bespoke one for this loco based on the standard SCRH1 but with a longer connecting pipe and a shorter Chuffer to match the short chimney.

  • Should point working model replica... ;-o

  • @Firrboxfryup - Thanks Jamie. I think I saw Waverley down here in the harbour the other day. I have been on her before and those engines really are the business. A model sounds easier than the full size replica ;-)

    Cheers

  • @DAKOTA56777 Yeh, I did mean a model of Waverley, although owning the real thing is quite desirable.

In fact, it would probably be easier to build a 20ft Steamer from scratch, something like Monarch... ;-)

    Cheers

  • I want a paddle steamer too, something a lot smaller though. I might just make a 20ft paddler from scratch.

  • @Summerlandsteam i must say it is vastly improved by your chuffer! :)

  • @Summerlandsteam Yep, you properly did see Waverley, that's where we sailed from on Friday, a Cruise to Lulworth Cove. Just uploaded two videos of it. ;-)

And yes, a model would be easier, although I've always wanted my own Paddle Steamer...

  • Fab video Chris, as Tulki said, Roy has a fine collection of locos and stock, I'm thinking of building a working replica of the PS Waverley with a real Triple Expansion engine, been inspired since travelling on her on Friday! ;-) Lol
