  • beautiful ..he is deep in this song...however seems to stop at 2.35?

  • @sweetgypsywife not that I'm aware of - maybe it's your connection?

  • The backgroundsinger to rhe right very much looks like Sharon Robinson, with who Leonard recorded "ten new songs". She still sang with him during the legendary 2008 series of concerts.

  • I can see why you might think that, but it is in fact Perla Batalla, not Sharon Robinson.

  • @pbalwaysinformed No he was definitely more influenced by Cale's version. His loss I guess...

  • the best singer known. so true, so beautiful. he must be jewish, no...

  • @alberts1985

    He's not a US born citizen....doesn't qualify...

  • @mickycisme No, I think Buckley covered Cohen's "Various Positions"-Version of Hallelujah.

  • I was so happy when this wave of adoration for Cohen arose... he had been so important a generation before, but a lot of people had lost sight of him by the 80s. Then only-semi-ironic hipster appreciation brought him back, and shortly after that the "I'm your fan" compilation - and especially the John Cale cover of "Hallelujah" that was on it (Buckley later covered Cale's version, not Cohen's) - blew the doors off the hinges and everyone welcomed Cohen back into their lives. To our benefit.

  • i wish he was the president of the United States
