'I Was Born A Champion' - Nathan Comber

Hey guys, I present to you my sampler for 2011.
The video is titled 'I was born a champion', not because I was born with some kind of innate greatness, but because I believe I was born with a strong natural sense of dedication and commitment in all walks of life; and this has allowed me to achieve what I consider championship status within myself. I've found something which I love, and something which I have got a lot better at than I ever intended to when I set out on the journey of a life time just over 6 years ago. This isn't about being 'better' than anyone else; it's about finding fulfilment in my own heart, my own world and my own existence, which I have through gymnastics and making videos. Every day I am truly humbled by the comments you all leave me, I'm really nothing special but you make me feel like I am, you are the main reason I keep training and pushing myself. This video is dedicated to all you people, and to everybody who has achieved something against the odds, because they BELIEVED in themselves :)

Now that the video has been up for a few months I will explain a few of the metaphors and ideas in the sampler beyond the actual tricks. Firstly, until only a few weeks before posting this it was much shorter, with just the champion song; however I heard the intro song 'Escape' off my brothers 30 seconds to Mars CD and it was the most fucking epic thing I had ever heard; I had to use it. I still get chills every time I watch this intro sequence. The clips of me walking up a steep hill with a heavy backpack are meant to represent the uphill struggle that training is; no matter how good you get, the next skill up is never easy. However, at the end of the video I reach the top of the hill; which represents my current skill level, which is much higher than I ever thought it would be, I then turn around to look down the hill, metaphorically speaking on what I have acheived over the last few years. Quite a lot of the lyrics in this song spoke to me, hence why I decided to use it; the chorus is fairly self explanatory but "Opinions ain't facts take em in and let 'em go" and "you made me who I am from the words you said" were meaningful lines for me aswell. I interpreted them to mean me ignoring the negative views and stereotypes I have experienced from doing gymnastics, which ultimately made me more determined to get good and prove the haters wrong. Also, the time lapse of the sun setting at the end has no metaphorical meaning, but i thought gave 2011 a sense of closure as my first video of 2011 (Welcoming MMXI) started with a time lapse of the sun rise (: I hope that after reading this you can appreciate the sampler some more on a different level, as well as still enjoying the tricks! :D

@jamesbond9600 Although the cam is in HD, this is the highest quality I can render the file in once I've edited it in Sony Vegas :/ I'm not too bothered though, this quality is good enough and most people get impatient trying to stream in HD anyway
