A demo of Fire of Unknown Origin, included on the 2001 remaster of Agents of Fortune...

Death comes sweeping through the hallway, like a lady's dress
Death comes driving down the highway, in it's Sunday best

A fire of unknown origin took my baby away
A fire of unknown origin took my baby away

Swept to ruin off my wavelength, swallowed her up
Like the ocean in a fire, so thick and gray

A fire of unknown origin took my baby away
A fire of unknown origin took my baby away

Death comes driving - I can't do nothing! Death goes.
There must be something - there must be something that remains
Something... something...

A fire of unknown origin took my baby away
A fire of unknown origin took my baby away

  • hey! i love this song. So...007 style haha.

I´ve never understand that "?" that is pointed. anyone can explain it to me?

  • If you're referring to the symbol the man is pointing to, its the Kronos symbol. Its an ancient Greek symbol that stands for lead, which Blue Öyster Cult supposedly adopted to symbolize heavy metal (a term they coined themselves).

  • Better than the FOUO version, in my opinion. Very soulful.

  • Holy shit, this is a billion trillion times better than the one that was released.

  • BOY ICANT REMEMBER HOW MUCH POT WAS SMOKED DURING THIS ERA OF MUSIC

  • @Golfinnder Google the BOC FAQs page. It's a great deal of info regarding the band. The Kronos symbol appears on every Blue Oyster Cult album.

  • This simply sucks! Long time BOC fan but their albums were horrible! Just like this crap. Most albums had one or two good songs and that was it. Secret Treaties was a good album (love the artwork), Spectres too! But Fire of Unknown Origin was simply their best offering!

  • I like this version better, but isn't this the original version not a demo version? it sounds more like a final version of a song then a demo to me

  • @brendaleake and her version is unlistenable if you ever are unfortunate enough to hear it. Sounds like she spent all night shooting heroin and drinking mescal with Tom Waits, which is the only way to describe it, but trust me, it's way worse than that..

  • @ZZombyWooff I strongly prefer this. The later version just sounds like a band trying to stay current despite changing fads. This is timeless death rock.

  • @zkxv but people later used the phrase to describe music
