Uhm...The issue with opiates is not diet. It's the fact that a person's brain doesn't go to sleep. This causes the body to always be "running on fumes". In order for the body to recover one needs true sleep. Once a junkie gets off dope the immune system is stong as heck. Pancreatic cancer is the main side effect (risk of down the road). Jerry didn't die of an overdose or cancer. He was getting clean in rehab-it was dts/years of a lot of issues. And, yes synthetics are much worse.

Jerry built up a mega-tolerance to the Persian, and ultra-pure form of H, and after a time of being strung-out, he used basically for maintenance purposes, as to not get "dope-sick"... he rarely injected, mostly smoked or snorted it from what I understand. He did love the llello TOO, however. In later years he'd forget to take off a shower-cap he'd often wear while chasing-the-dragon (so his hair wouldn't catch-fire), ooops!
