@moodypharaon It is called "Counterstrike" by Sabaton. Israel threatened to join the Soviet Union if America refused to help (and again in 1973).

True, but there are historical reasons for this. Israel became a major player in the Cold War when it was created. It couldn't survive without support from Britain and France or, later, America.
America is no longer the major player it was when the USSR was a superpower, but it is still acting that way. Israel has allies and trading partners in the EU, it doesn't need America anymore.
