Dutch Indo-rock impacted Singapore Pop Music in the early 1960's.
ANNEKE GRONLOH - "Asmara" (1960).
According to ANNEKE GRONLOH's official website, this was her debut record. "Asmara" did not create much of a stir in Holland when it was first released, but it reached #1 in Singapore and stayed on the charts for three months. Was also highly acclaimed in Malaya and Indonesia.
To this day Indonesian-born ANNEKE GRONLOH is still revered in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, and it all started from all the Malay hits that she released in the early 1960's.
She would surely be inducted into the Singapore 60's Pop Music Hall Of Fame.
