  • ok proper way, take them ALL out first so that the child can then see that you are putting them in order. The child cant see everything in the box!!

Take them all out in any order, then put them in order from biggest to the smallest, then put them straight back into the box.

Presentation 2 is take all cylinders out and build a tower from biggest to smallest. this cannot be done though with the blue box as they are all the same width.

  • ok with this video i have to say that since this activity is combining two peices of materials then this should be left for the child to discover on their own rather than it be shown as an activity, they can basically learn the same principles with the cylinder blocks alone

Yes, you run your finger around the shape. It's prep for tracing the geometric forms and sandpaper letters, and eventually prep for writing--notice how she actually runs her first and 2nd fingers around the shape, then pick up a pen yourself. See?

You have to take the largest out first because later you have to put the largest IN first, or they will not fit back into the box.

  • in fact these knobless cyclinders cannot be taken out wih turning it upside down as the teacher has tried. Why MUST you take the big one first. Did I see her running her finger around the shape? Is this one of the numerous instructions how to use? Another Montessori madness.
