@videogeek2008 I would think everyone knows that if you open any kind of electronic device during the warranty period that you could void your warranty.
Tivo will not know that you opened up the box anyway in this case.

where does the new drive go when you are done?
is it an external esata or could you mount it inside the tivo case?

Could you use any regular 3.5" internal sata drive instead of opening an external?
Is there a capacity limit or list of drives that work with a series 2 tivo?

cable comes from wall to shaw box
from shaw box to tivo
from tivo to TV
tivo has 2 IR senders that sit in front of shaw box to change channels
you use the tivo remote, the tivo sends signals with the senders to the shaw box to change channels
I hope this helps
If you hate shaw bozx so much you could get rid of it and only have channels up to 58. I am in vancouver and have shaw.
