Maybe it's just the quality of the recording, but nobody is a match for Ramey in my opinion.

For german listeners the "R" of Siepi sounds very noble and beautiful because it's not a tounge-R but a throat-R.

Yeah, he couldn't pronounce 'R' correctly.. but that didn't stop him to make a great career !!
