Open-ended project for Principles of Engineering, Olin College. Output pins of a PIC microcontroller light LEDs on the fan. A magnetic sensor is used to determine the speed of rotation.

@MegaPsychotronic Sorry, not my cup of tea. Don't get me wrong, I love hiphop but not the 'macho' kind of hiphip. I'm more pleased with music like MF Doom, Gang Starr, Jurassic 5 or Flying Lotus. I think music is about coöperation and entertainment, not about aggressively telling the world that you are the best. Let the French make electro/house, they do a good job there.
