@imalinuxfreak That's what I did too dude, great work for your age, I was about the same age when I started too with 3ds Max 3... Good memories! Keep up the good work and don't take the lazy and idiotic "tutorial" route, although documentation never hurts!

Interesting...wanna see another interesting project..have a look in my video it's about a Cultural Centre for a university

Good work Danny. Keep it up (Prashant - India)

Not bad junior *****

nice job danny
i really like it !
but i wanna ask u about the effect u use it for the physical effects
-
Ha, cool! How did you get the water effect???

Very nicely done. I'm 19 and have been using Max for about 2 years now, so I know what you have been going through. I must say though, you are traveling through it alot quicker than I ever did. This is good, keep it up.

hey a little tip: for your lighting, to eliminate those really deep blacks in the shadows and make it a bit more realistic, I recommend playing around with "Dens." in the "Shadow Parameters" rollout. Also, instead of ray-traced shadows or mental-ray shadow mapping, (not sure which you are using), try "shadow map" - found under "general parameters" in your light's rollout. I'm currently working on a tough project, a roller coaster, and my teacher wants realistic physics and stuff. GAH.

hey thanks
where did you get your tutorials from?

i didnt, I just picked it up, its pretty easy. good luck :)

Either way, very impressive, especially for a begginer. :) What I'm most interested in is the liquid effects you pulled off. I dont give much time as I'd like to, so little stuff like that is stuff that still illudes me.

Yeah, the rendering was done on a 2.00 GHz Core 2 Duo, and I used Maya for about 1/3 of the liquids, and Reactor for the other 1/3, and glu3d for the rest. I used to render on a Celeron, so I know what slow is, but I am working with realistic light simulations now, and I use mental ray for rendering, it is very fast :)

How did you do that fur? It hangs, etc..?

i set a cache folder, and i set it to a precomputed fur, and ran the simulation.
