When I taught Canadian studies, the Canadian academic community described Canada as a MOSAIC, and criticized the U.S. MELTING POT. Describing Canada as a mosaic was a euphemism for a fragmented political culture up through the last 3 decades of the 20th Century. With the influx of immigrants in Canada today, the situation is even more serious. Our concept of the melting pot is also flawed, as I think you imply. J.V
