What is this guy thinking?

The driver of the white car actually stops for a few seconds to decide if he can fit in the parking space. Once he decides he will try, he pulls in and hits that car to the right. Notice the empty space that comes into view on the top left. After the driver hits the car to right, the driver does not flee the scene. Instead, he parks his car a few spaces away, retrieves the side molding that came off when he hit the other car, attaches the side molding, and then goes shopping.
