Hi, to correct this, shut it off, turn it on w/ sleep and home buttons, once you see the white apple release only the sleep button and the connect it to your comp while still holding home

hey same thing happened to me its a bummer try going to apple online service assistance and make an account (which u do need a credit card for) and then make up a story on why your ipod broke and u should get a new ipod free
