Over 2000 guests joined Ambassador Reeker at the United States Embassy in Skopje to commemorate American Independence Day. This Fourth of July was the 235th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Americans honor the Declaration for thehuman values that it describes and defends -- Life, Liberty and thePursuit of Happiness. Americans see these values as universal-belonging not just to American citizens but to all citizens of the world.
The large audience of guests - including the Macedonian President and Prime Minister, Macedonian government Ministers and other representatives -showed their support for the United States.
The Ambassador highlighted the strengths of the U.S. relationship with Macedonia over the years and announced continued support and cooperation with Macedonia in the future.
U.S. Embassy Skopje is honored to have celebrated our country's birthday in the wonderful nation of the Republic of Macedonia.
