This is the second Poem A Day that almost wasn't. Hurried haiku are generally sloppy, and this one is no exception. Still, I hope you enjoy it.
Split open my skull,
Search each vacant cavity,
And find the matter.
The new night settles,
And the sleeping child cries,
Watching parents die.
