I've got to say that's the slowest ubuntu boot i've seen, and i use it on my thinkpad 600e (PII-366, 128mb ram and slowashell hdd) all the time.. What hardware was that on? also, if you press ctrl+alt+F1 as it boots the splash will be swapped for the boot process output and you can see whats slowing it down and prob improve things quite a bit

it was running a VMWare virtual machine which in turn was running on an Intel P4 2.8 Gigz and 1 GB memory along with VS2005, IIS7, SQL server 2005 and iTunes. And the computer had been running for like one week with out a reboot.
