My Thoughts On The Old Republic

After playing in the beta for Star Wars: The Old Republic, I find myself ready to pull my preorder... Here's why.

I played the beta on Friday...couldn't really stand to play much more than that. I like you was a massive SWG fan. I played from its beta until the empire had its way and totally trashed the game blah blah.. I was hoping and thinking that just possibly the devs would have taken a look at the experience the team had with the rise and fall of swg into account as they were in production of this game, but they have obviously either missed the entire point or just didn't give a fuck....

@Dissonant1975 After the CU and NGE, I gave up on it. Was pretty heartbroken, especially since it took me forever to become Master Doctor and Teras Kasi, not to mention had just become an apprentice jedi. I guess that's why I like the swgemu, these guys recreated the servers pre CU and NGE. I can't stop playing again lol.

@johnakles You and me both bro..Heartbroken is how I always describe it..I knew players who had been playing for 3-4yrs working on becoming force sensitive, including myself. I had just started the force quest through the village and two weeks later theres literately a thousand jedi's running around on my sever..it made me sick to my stomach. Not to mention the notice I got when I logged on telling mt I had to "respect" in order to play

@Dissonant1975 Man! I swear, you are speaking my language! I wholeheartedly agree with everything you are saying. I remember signing in after the NGE went live and seeing my character sitting there in his underwear. I remember thinking, "hmm odd, I had my composite armor on" So I went to put it back on, and it said I lacked the certification. I spent millions of credits getting that armor! And then here comes EVERYONE pulling out lightsabers and thinking they are special because they are jedi.

It just made me sick! Force sensitivity took me forever to get! then converting the experience points to jedi points meant fighting your ass off then going and travelling to the force town. GAH!

Yeah just play Star Wars Galaxies. Great game. My preorder money is going to the Metal Gear Solid HD collection

Yes, the truth does not hurt. In fact, it feels so good. SWG is my XP of a lifetime pre cu. I would give this watered down game a try but, er, I didn't fond pre cu swg to be too difficult, just intense. Me likey

@johnakles you know what gets me the most...Those servers were damn near full..After the NGE/CU they all died almost overnight..You'd think with the loss of that much profit, they would listen to the public and make right the wrongs..But instead, they took their screw-up and run with it, like its the last touch down of the final game...

well john i agree that looks just like the dc unaverse online i got so bored with it in 15 mins so i think i may take back my pay for this too
