Proper basketball strength training will transform an average player to a good player and allow a good player to turn into a great player. It is essentail that basketball players train like athletes and not bodybuilders.
In this basketball strength training video, I show you a great leg training exercise for basketball players. The single arm reverse lunge accomplishes many functional strenght movements to help a player get faster, stronger, and move explosive. By holding weight in only a single arm, the core must work to stabilize the body (to prevent from tipping). It also forces the grip to work in addition to the legs performing the movement.
