danny carey plays tool's 'jambi' @ kc explorer's percussion 25th anniversary event on september 18, 2009.

danny confirmed the origin of the name of this track:
he thought that justin's bass riff (when he's playing 5 over 8s, i believe) sounded like 'mekka lekka hi meka hiney ho' from peewee's playhouse....and that's jambi's language. mystery solved.

  • look at jeff....he's awesome! So I know when I went to the clinic he did in 2003, they were very strict about people recording his performance. I've seen at least a dozen videos so far from this most recent clinic...did they make any attempts to stop people from recording this time?

  • they said no recording at least 20 times before the show. but how can you stop 200 handheld cameras?

  • You gotta keep in mind how danny plays drums and how he applies he sees his drumming, he goes beyond nice fast clean beats or all that common or convetional stuff. is about creating a melody and making each part sound unique and danny definately focuses on each limb he uses to play and also his kit, is all about the possibilities, and danny has a wide range in sounds and beats. Is variety and going outside the box like scootermojo said... hes a unique drummer, the best of our time hands down.

  • T00L is the Perfect Storm of talented musicians! They're all experts at what they do. That's why it takes them a while 2 release an album.

  • oww my ears. 2:46

  • @gefroren20 As experts, do you not think it would take less time? Perhaps they already have the next album in production as they release the previous one. Chances are the next album is already finished, all they need is Maynard to write vocals. The long period between albums is most likely to see how the music will hold up over time, giving the band members a chance to write material that will never get old.

  • The only dislike is my grandma .... she dont know shit about music ;)

  • symbol to the head at about 2:45??

  • Man he looks awkward

  • @gefroren20 i heard there is a new album coming out called the fourth eye, is there any truth behind this if you know??

  • @ironcobra8 Why would not want people to record?

  • how come i didnt hear of this?... im jealous of anyone who saw this live... so jealous!!!

  • If i had to pick one drummer for the best ever...danny all the way. cant fucking wait for the new album damnet!

  • you can tell, danny is pissed about the cameras
