I've kept trying to thin a biface this way but it just doesn't seem to work, maybe you should spent more time showing hot to hold the rock correctly before you start ruining it

this stone, obsidian, is a common stone in Arizona. Ebay is probably a good source if you aren't close or don't know someone that can ship it to you. You can use the bottom of a glass pop bottle if you can't get any of this stuff and it has about the same consistency. Be very careful with this stuff, it will cut the heck out of ya.

obsidian can reduce or feather itself down to 1 micron, and they actually use obsidian blades for ocular surgery and other surgery. Obsidian is sharper than any scalpel or surgical blades. yes its cuts and does that well! gloves are your friend.....lol cool vid as well.
these expert village videos about flintknapping don't really explain anything
the tittle has almost nothing to do with the content
the tittle is how to select stones for thinning and the video is about a guy fixing a bi-face
