  • I've kept trying to thin a biface this way but it just doesn't seem to work, maybe you should spent more time showing hot to hold the rock correctly before you start ruining it

  • this stone, obsidian, is a common stone in Arizona. Ebay is probably a good source if you aren't close or don't know someone that can ship it to you. You can use the bottom of a glass pop bottle if you can't get any of this stuff and it has about the same consistency. Be very careful with this stuff, it will cut the heck out of ya.

  • @Supertomiman There are tons of expert village vids about lots of things...and none of them really explain anything...this is actually the most informative videos of theirs ive seen

  • The black stone is caled obsidian you can buy it online or find it in various place..there are large quantities of it in the eastern oregon and nevada area ( the great basin ) u can also knapp various types of stones fints and churts..

  • Does anyone know what the best rock for this that I could find in Durham region Ontario Canada? Its right on lake ontario in the great lakes area

  • Where do you go to find that black stone.

  • obsidian can reduce or feather itself down to 1 micron, and they actually use obsidian blades for ocular surgery and other surgery. Obsidian is sharper than any scalpel or surgical blades. yes its cuts and does that well! gloves are your friend.....lol cool vid as well.
