Visitors to the Pittsburgh Children's Musuem experienced art installations controlled by computers programmed to learn from their surroundings, or from the people observing the art. The installations were developed by students in the interdisciplinary "Art That Learns" class at Carnegie Mellon University, led by Osman Khan, visiting professor in the School of Art, and Carlos Guestrin, assistant professor of computer science.

  • 5*'s Very interesting. I guess there is a fine line between Art and Technology.

    I'm not sure I truly understand where one begins and the other ends. For this example and project, because the Art can't learn if Technology wasn't applied and incorporated into the design?!

    For me Art is when you do the same thing over and over again and NEVER get the same result, and for the latter, when you do the same thing over and over again and get the same result, I call that Science...

  • I gave the video four stars because I liked the energy and the ideas behind the art, it made me think.
