Higher Ground performed by Kenny Eng

I was trying to find a band song to cover that would have the same kind of energy but a different groove than the Bill Withers tune we already do. I had been listening to Innervisions and Songs in the Key of Life a lot and kind of thought to myself that I Wish would be a really cool song but I just don't have the vocal chops yet to pull it off. So as I was meandering through those two albums, I remembered that the Red Hot Chili Peppers did a punk/funk version of Higher Ground which I never really cared for. So I though maybe my band could work something up and sure enough, one day in practice we started jamming on it and the tune sounded awesome! The only problem was that I couldn't remember the words. So I went home and promptly memorized them and recorded this in the process.
