Hannover 96 3 - 1 Sunderland AFC - Highlights

Sunderland's third pre-season came as a defeat. Hannover took the lead with a strangely looking offside goal as a lapse in the Sunderland defence allowed Abdoullaoue to slip through, round Mingolet and slide it into the back of the net. A few minutes later when Sunderland where still vulnerable, Hannover got into the Sunderland area and Schlaudraff's shot was too hot for Mignolet to handle which made it 2 - 0 just before the break. Eight minutes after the restart Sessegnon netted to make it 2 goals in 2 friendlies for him and 2 - 1 to Hannover. Sunderland threatened with an equaliser as Elmohamady had a header cleared of the line but with six minutes to go Hannover wrapped it up as Akdari met a cross to help it pass a stranded Mignolet.

Full time 3 - 1 to Hannover 96.
